The Singular pieces are un-repeatable. Each vessel has been made from a tree that has responded to its environment in a particular way that is in some sense special. Creating a form from these pieces of wood is necessarily responsive and unpredictable. From moment to moment the craftsmanship is fraught with risk and discovery, as the character of the wood reveals itself. A crack, a knot, a hollow; ‘flaws’ in the wood are worked with instead of against, highlighting chosen features to celebrate its unique character.
